Escar Prod is a cooperative of 220 snail growing farmers from Romania , the birth place of our Helix Pomatia, the snails that we market.

   Organized in 2005 our coop. has embarqued in the snail growing business with the idea of obtaining an organically certified product, worthy of international marketing. Establishing a reproduction and growth methode, was our first priority, considering our concern for the well being of our animals and the environment they spend their time in. We elaborated a totally new, free range method to reduce the stress factor and to insure a well balanced diet, within the parameters of certifiably organic agriculture.

    Our farmers are respecting the reproduction cycle of 2 ½ years, characteristic to the Helix Pomatia and they harvest the snails in totally hygienic conditions prior to sending them in refrigerated vehicles to the processing plant. At all times the traceability is the formost concern, in order to insure the safety of our customers.
