Established as a COOP of snail farmers, ESCAR PROD, has managed in the last two years to insure the supply of raw material necessary to the production of over 1000tones/year of finished products known as „THE ELEGANT FOOD“ for the traditional international markets.

Our processing plant was built to the very latest in the meat processing technology and food handling requirements, imposed by HACCP norms. In addition, our products are being certified as „TOTALLY ECOLOGICAL“, by the internationally recognized agency ECOCERT INTERNATIONAL, Northeim Germany .

The certification is applied at the farm, as well as the factory level and is based on a fully qualified and constantly supervised staff.

The certitude of a constant supply of raw material, the high level of technology and food handling norms, the BIO certification, qualifies ESCAR PROD, as a leading supplier of QUALITY snail meat products.

Our products:

In order to satisfy the diversity of demand, we are addressing our production to three sectors of the market:

• The restaurant trade
• The household consumer
• The gourmet consumer

• The products destined to the restaurant trade are mostly frozen and packaged for ease in handling without compromising the required temperature standards of the product.
• Frozen morsels of snails in large P.E. bags vacuumed packed, 3.3 kg.,instantly frozen in I.Q.F. tunnels, giving the possibility of selecting the desired number of morsels, without thawing up the entire bag.
• Escargots Bourguignon , presented in shells , with the traditional butter, garlic and spices paste, packed in large P.E. bags containing 10 dozen pieces, destined also to the restaurant trade ,frozen in I.Q.F. tunnels ,need to be kept frozen.
  
• The product destined to the household consumer , is designed to attract the buyer through appearance and size, being shelf product, it is presented in glass jars that allow visual inspection . In this respect our products are unique; most producers preferring metal cans that hide the true appearance of the product .We are confident in the technological flux and the quality of our product and “celebrate” its appearance.

• The products destined to the gourmet consumer are prepared following our own recipes they are generally new products, that will satisfy the most discriminating tastes They include:
• Bite size, pastry, filled with snail meat and finely seasoned butter paste (frozen) 12 pcs. trays
• Snail meat sausage (frozen prod ) 500 gr. trays
• Snail meat pate (terrine), 100 gr. jars canned pasteurized product

All our products are certified as BIO, and are produced and packed according to the EU requirements regarding the food safety and labeling laws. Our packaging is tailored to the wholesale trade.
